Review Scores Reference

Though I don't "score" my reviews on this site, there are some out there that take stock in some of those things and since I do have a method to scoring my reviews, I figured some may be interested to see where reviews land on the scoring scale. Here is my scoring methodology and the scores of my reviews which I've calculated using this scale. I plan to add all reviews on the site here with scores at some point. I feel my method is a fair representation of scoring for an album and is the scoring method I use on rated websites.

Premise: An album consists of songs which make up the whole (100%). My scoring is based on a scale of 0% - 100%.

To calculate score:

1. I break down each song into a percentage of the whole album.
2. I rate each song on a scale from 0-5.
3. This rating is used to calculate points each song earns towards the maximum an album can earn.
4. Points are added and a total is calculated:

1. Poslednee Pristanishe (14:35) 14:35 = 875 seconds / points
2. Psevdoriatunok          ( 6:45 )   6:45 = 405 seconds / points
3. Steklianniy Bog          (13:00)  13:00 = 780 seconds / points
4. Pod Maskoy Etoy        (11:10)  11:10 = 670 seconds / points
                           Total Points Possible: 2730 seconds / points

1. Poslednee Pristanishe (3.5 / 5 (or 70%)) = 875 x 70% = 612.5 points
2. Psevdoriatunok          (4.0 / 5 (or 80%)) = 405 x 80% = 324.0 points
3. Steklianniy Bog           (4.5 / 5 (or 90%)) = 780 x 90% = 702.0 points
4. Pod Maskoy Etoy         (3.8 / 5 (or 76%)) = 670 x 76% = 509.2 points
                                             Total Points Awarded:     2147.7 points

4. Percentage calculated:

2147.7 ÷ 2730 = .78 (78%)

This method takes into account what part of each album each song represents and really leaves less possibility of a skewed scoring since each song is being given it's own rating. It is difficult to review an album and say that one song is the best song on the album, rate it at 4/5 and yet give every other song the same score or better.
